About FlameHost
We run free game servers funded by community growth instead of subscriptions. Here's exactly how that works, and who's behind it.

What FlameHost is
FlameHost provides free Minecraft and Discord bot server hosting on real bare-metal hardware. Not a trial, not a freemium tier that hibernates after ten minutes — a genuine server with full file access that stays online while your own computer is off.
We started in 2025for a simple reason: plenty of people who want to run a server with their friends can't justify a monthly subscription, or don't have a way to pay for one at all. Hosting shouldn't be gated behind a credit card.
How free hosting is actually paid for
Servers cost real money. Hardware, bandwidth and power are billed to us every month whether or not anyone plays. So it's fair to ask who's covering that if you aren't.
The answer is community growth. Rather than charging you, we ask you to bring people in. You share a personal invite link to our Discord, and every person who joins and passes our anti-abuse checks becomes a verified invite. Those invites are the currency you spend on server resources:
- 5 verified invites → 2 GB RAM, 100% CPU, 10 GB NVMe
- 10 verified invites → 4 GB RAM, 150% CPU, 15 GB NVMe
- 20 verified invites → 6 GB RAM, 200% CPU, 20 GB NVMe
- 35 verified invites → 8 GB RAM, 250% CPU, 25 GB NVMe
Each claim runs for 30 days and renews when you earn the invites again. A larger community means more people helping keep the lights on, which means we can keep giving servers away.
The honest trade-off:you pay with reach instead of money. If you have friends or a community, that's a good deal. If you have nobody to invite, you won't be able to claim anything — and self-hosting on a spare machine will genuinely serve you better. We'd rather say that than waste your time.
What we run
Every server, free or otherwise, runs on Ryzen bare metal with NVMe storage. Single-thread CPU speed is what decides whether a Minecraft server feels smooth, so that's what we spend on.
Our nodes are located in:
- Singapore, Singapore — Asia
- Mumbai, India — Asia
- Frankfurt, Germany — Europe
- New York, USA — North America
Ping is decided mostly by physical distance, so pick the node closest to where your players actually are.
What's included
- Full file access and a root-level control panel
- One-click modpack installs from CurseForge, Modrinth, FTB and Technic
- Any Minecraft version — vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge, Spigot
- One-click Bedrock crossplay and additional ports
- No player slot limits
- Subuser accounts so friends can help administer
What we don't do
Being clear about limits matters more than a longer feature list:
- We never ask for your Minecraft account password. No legitimate host needs it. If anyone claiming to be us asks, it's not us.
- We don't require software installs to unlock servers. Everything happens in Discord and the control panel.
- We don't offer uptime guarantees on free plans. Keep your own backups — that's good advice for any host, paid or free.
- We don't allow referral abuse. Alt accounts, bots and VPN farming are rejected automatically.
